Anonymisation and Pseudonymisation
What is Anonymisation?
Anonymisation is when information can no longer be related to an identifiable person even when the information you hold is combined with information from other sources. Permanently anonymised data is no longer personal data.
What is Pseudonymisation?
Pseudonymisation means that personal identifiers that allow personal data to be attributed to a specific person are kept separate and are subject to access controls. Pseudonymised data are still personal data, but in a slightly safer format.
