PhD Funding at the UCD School of Civil Engineering

There are some general funding schemes such as the ‘Government of Ireland scholarships’ ((opens in a new window)http://research.ie/funding/postgraduate-funding) and many other sources of funding such as European Union projects, national agencies (such as EPA or Science Foundation Ireland) and industry-funded projects. When lecturers win these projects, they will often be looking for good candidates to undertake funded PhD studies. In many cases, such opportunities are advertised.

There are also additional funding opportunities for Chinese students.

If you are interested in doing a PhD, it is best to identify potential supervisors and to arrange to meet them to express your interest and to find out if there is funding available. A list of staff in the School is available here
