The cluster wished farewell to Dr. Enrique Salvador in August 2015. Enrique joined FMC2 in 2013 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and subsequently secured an Irish Research Council Fellowship to fund his research. He has returned to his native Spain to take up a Lectureship position.
Dr. Anita Suurlaht joined the cluster on 1 September 2015 and will be based at the UCD Smurfit Graduate Business School in Blackrock. Anita will be working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow under the supervision of Professor John Cotter.
Dr. Mark Hallam joined the cluster this month and will be working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UCD Smurfit School of Business with Professor John Cotter. Mark joins us from Koç University, Istanbul.
Congratulations to Dr. Marko Weber who has recently taken up a position at JP Morgan Chase & Co. in London. Marko recently completed his PhD at DCU under the supervision of Professor Paolo Guasoni.
Congratulations to FMC2 alumnus Dr. Jonathan Byrne, who has secured a two-year IRC Postdoctoral Fellowship award for his research project Additive Manufacturing and Design Optimisation. Jonathan will begin his Fellowship in October 2015 in the School of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering at UCD.
Professor Michael O’Neill (ICON Chair of Business Analytics, UCD) gave a presentation on “Making sense of the big data generated” as part of an event on Re-engineering Clinical Trials – Developing new therapies in a connected world. The event was jointly hosted by Enterprise Ireland and ICON Plc on St Patrick’s Day in Heidelberg, Germany….
Cluster Postdoc Abhinav Anand has been invited to the Max Planck Institute for Informatics in Saarbrucken, Germany to conduct research with the Algorithmic Group for a period of one week from April 4th to April 11th 2015.
